Digital Injections

At HBDS, we understand that no one likes painful dental injections or needles. Fear can often lead to a delay in treatment, resulting in the need for more expensive procedures. We offer our patients 'The Wand™' digital injections as an alternative to the traditional needle, reducing your fears and enabling swift solutions.

Dentists are trained to give dental injections using the same instruments that have been in use for several decades. You may be surprised to learn that the source of discomfort for most injections isn’t actually the needle; it's from the flow of the anesthetic into your soft tissue. The digital injection delivers the anesthetic at an optimal flow rate for a comfortable and much more relaxed experience than ever before.

What is a digital injection?

  • It doesn’t look like a syringe
  • It doesn’t hurt like a syringe
  • And it works better than a syringe.

The Wand is a digital anaesthetic instrument that places the numbing solution slower than is humanly possible. Most patients comment that it is the most comfortable anaesthetic they have ever received. Patients quickly overcome their nervousness with this pain-free dental anaesthesia.

A better injection for all patients

Whether injections make you nervous or not, The Wand provides a more effective anaesthetic delivery. There are no more painful injections and you’re more comfortable throughout the entire procedure. The Wand delivers a special kind of magic and is a great example of how HBDS brings you the latest state-of-the-art dental technology for a pleasant, pain-free dental experience every time you visit.

How the digital injection works

The microprocessor inside The Wand automatically compensates for different tissue densities. The anaesthetic is delivered at a constant pressure and volume that is typically below the pain threshold.

The computer provides a flow of anaesthetic directly ahead of the needle. This numbs the site of insertion and develops a 'pathway of anaesthesia' so you hardly feel the needle at all. The digital injection delivers the anaesthetic at an optimal flow rate for a comfortable injection every time.
